Office News June 2010
Members will be very pleased to know that sanity has returned to the Grey Power Office. Staff and volunteers have survived the mad membership renewal rush, the queues out the door are down to a trickle, the Stoke Post Office has cancelled the extra mail van needed to deliver all our membership renewals posted in … office life is back to normal (okay slight exaggeration with the "normal bit").
So far over three quarters of our members have renewed, slightly up on this time last year. Members who have not already renewed will receive the June Newsletter with a Green Cover reminding them that they are overdue. This will bring a flurry of renewals (temporary insanity again).
Our Out and About days have been a great success. It keeps our profile up and we get a lot of people who collect a joining form from these events with the intention of posting it in or coming into the office with it. Plus it is also a good chance for members to stop and chat, which a lot do.
Advertising on the Radio Network has proved a very successful means of reminding members to renew as well as another means of letting you know of up coming events.
Thank you to the 75 members who ticked that they would like to help in the office, I was able to use two of you. Please do not be offended if we have not contacted you, at this stage we have a full compliment of volunteers, your names are on our data base.
The Michael Hill Evening we held for members was appreciated by those who attended but we will not be running evenings like this again with other businesses as the numbers who did attend was very disappointing, especially for the effort that was put into the evening and the generosity of Michael Hill Richmond Store. The Ladies watch was won by Dot Carson and the mens watch by Colin Davies.
Book early for the mid winter luncheon as numbers are limited.
Thank you to all our members for your continued support.
